Abstract
Pulmonary rehabilitation is an interdisciplinary approach to the treatment of patient with chronic obstructive lung disease. Physiolosic interventions in pulmonary rehabilitation include patient's education, breathing exercise, respirartory muscle training, postural drainage, exercise training, home oxygen therapy, and physician follow-up. Respiratory muscle strength and endurance improve in respones to inspiratory muscle resistance training using Threshold™. Home oxygen therapy is also very important part of pulmonary rehabilitation. In determining the flow setting for home oxygen, it is nessesary to measure arterial blood gases while the patient is walking and sleeping. I conclude that pulmonary rehabilitation in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases may improve the activity during daily life.
