Abstract

Starting from heterotopic multidentate ligand 2,2′-(1,2-phenylenedisulfanediyl)diacetic acid, (R S,R S,R S,R S /S S,S S,S S,S S)-[Ag{1,2-C 6 H 4 (SCH 2 COOH) 2 -κ 2 S,S′} 2 ]BF 4 (1) was prepared and further used as a building block for the synthesis of heterobimetallic Ag-Cd coordination polymer [Ag 2 Cd 2 {1,2-(OOCCH 2 S) 2 C 6 H 4 } 3 (H 2 O) 3 ·5H 2 O] n (2). Both complexes were characterized by X-ray structure analysis and conventional spectroscopic techniques.
