Abstract

The article focuses on Readers' Advisory services and its connection with online social networking. The connection between readers' advisory and Library 2.0 tools is explored. Library uses of book-centered social networking sites including LibraryThing, GoodReads, and Shelfari are discussed. Benefits to social tags or folksonomies applied by users through online social networking sites are also examined. The article also provides a list of related social networking and book-related web sites to support readers' advisory.
