Abstract

Our work tries to offer a detailed reading of the Spanish horror movie Veronica (Paco Plaza, 2017). In order to achieve our goal, we will use a methodology based on textual analysis focused on the following aspects: structure, building and development of the main character, presentation of the social context and of the crisis of the inner personalities. We will try to explain the most relevant elements in the generation of signification processes from a semiotic perspective, and the relation between the concrete historic- contextual problems in which the events represented in the film took place.
