Abstract
The potential for the production of 153Gd (240.4 d, 100% EC) has been investigated by proton irradiations of terbium targets between 100 and 200 MeV. Irradiations were conducted in the Los Alamos Neutron Science Center using low current proton irradiations of terbium foil stacks, and radioactive products were assayed by HPGe gamma spectroscopy for several months following irradiation. The predictions of the ALICE 2011 nuclear code are compared with the measured results. © 2012 American Institute of Physics.
