Abstract

Three new species belonging to the little-knownfamily Acropsopilionidae are described. Two ofthem are placed in a new genus Tasmanopilio andthe third in the genus Austropsopilio Forster. Akey to the genera is provided. An accountof four species belonging to the family Phalangiidaeis also given. One of the species, Spinicrustasmanicum (Hogg), is the only member ofthe sub-order Palpatores hitherto recorded fromTasmania. Two of the other species are new andalso belong to the genus Spinicrus Forster. Theremaining species is the widely distributed Europeanphalangiid, Opilio parietinus (De Geer) , whichis often seen on buildings in Hobart and Launcestonduring summer.
