Abstract

Greenhouse gas emissions in industrial raw material production significantly reduce the global air quality, which directly affects the quality of life. In order to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, it is seen that country administrations encourage the development of industrial production processes according to regulations and laws. Currently, ammonia synthesis is the industrial process that emits the highest amount of carbon dioxide. An enormous 1.6 t of carbon dioxide is released for every tonne of produced ammonia. In this study, in order to reduce the carbon emissions during ammonia production, an evaluation of ammonia production processes and technology is made and sustainability is discussed.
