Abstract
Learning materials are one of three large groups of learning facilities. Learning materials are delivered through teaching aids and textbooks. There are basic components that must be fulfilled so that the textbook can support the learning well, namely (1) the feasibility of the content, (2) feasibility of presentation, (3) feasibility of legibility, (4) feasibility of design, and (5) security feasibility. However, the facts on the ground show that there are some things that have not met these criteria. To improve textbooks that are not in accordance with the criteria, there are four efforts, namely (1) the motivation or willingness of subject teachers to write textbooks, (2) it is necessary for teachers to adapt textbook content based on students' textbook compilers should hold the key to the curriculum of 2013 such as the approach used, the material presented, the literacy, the literary and linguistic portions, and (4) if the government wants to create textbooks for all students in Indonesia, it is better to make three versions of the book tailored with the region in Indonesia to be more targeted.
