Abstract
The Formal Elements Art Therapy Scale (FEATS) is ameasurement system for applying numbers to global variablesin two-dimensional art (drawing and painting). Whileit was originally developed for use with the single-pictureassessment ("Draw a person picking an apple from a tree"[PPAT]), researchers can also apply many of the 14 scales ofthe FEATS to other types of drawings. This article discusseshow art therapists who are studying other assessments canmodify specific FEATS scales for their use. © 2009 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
