Abstract

In different municipalities of the Province of Buenos Aires it is possible to identify new uses of the territory since the mid.1990s, that have resulted in innovative activities that coexist with agriculture, livestock and agricultural business. Rural tourism has become important because it promotes income and additional employment in a situation where the new rural life is re.signifying urban.rural links. It is a social appropriation of space of power relations and architectural character that links the productive system with its actors and government institutions. Territory becomes an economic problem, but also a political, social and environmental one that requires specific knowledge to identify the heterogeneity of its components that allow it to be valued as heritage. Rural tourism in Partido de Lobos is within the framework of the Pampas, and will be dealt with in an interdisciplinary study that brings the tools of tourism from the sociological, geographical and environmental perspectives.
