Abstract

This article develops a content analysis of the constitutional amendments to the Brazilian Constitution of 1988, aiming to identify which conflicts are expressed by the constant changes on the constitutional text. After the study of the characteristics of the model of constitutional reform adopted in 1988, the article classifies constitutional amendments by subject and periods of government, and develops the analysis of those amendments which manifest more difficulties to obtain stable constitutional agreements about their subject.
