Pengaruh Pupuk Organik Cair (POC) Terhadap Pertumbuhan Bibit Tanaman Kopi Arabika (Coffea arabica L.)

Abstract

The coffee is an agricultural product that has relatively high economic value compared to other crops. One that affects coffee production is the quality of the seeds. Efforts to produce good and quality seeds one of them is by providing fertilizer or fertilization. The application of inorganic fertilizers which are mostly carried out by the community or farmers has a very harmful impact on the environment and ecosystems so that alternative fertilization that can be done is by applying liquid organic fertilizer. The purpose of this research is to determine the effect of liquid organic fertilizer on the growth of Arabica coffee seedlings, as well as to determine the dosage and concentration of liquid organic fertilizer that is effective in increasing the growth of Arabica coffee plant seeds. This activity was carried out at the Politeknik Negeri Jember using a Non Factorial Randomized Block Design with 5 treatments and 5 replications, P1 (0 ml POC/L), P2 (2 ml POC/L), P3 (4 ml POC/L), P4 (6 ml POC/L), and P5 (8 ml POC/L). This research result showed a highly significant difference in the observed variables of seedling height and significant effect on the parameters of the number of leaves. However, the application on liquid organic fertilizer showed no significant effect on the parameters of steam diameter, wet stover weight and dry stover weight of Arabica coffee seedlings. The results of this research is the provision of liquid organic fertilizer with a concentration of 2 ml/l from effectively and efficiently used in the growth of Arabica coffee seedlings
