Abstract
Introduction: Socio-emotional skills are crucial for personal and professional fulfillment, promoting emotional stability, self-discipline and the ability to improve, in addition to influencing decision-making and conflict resolution. According to this, the objective of this research was to evaluate the effectiveness of the application of a stimulation program in socio-emotional competencies in a sample of schoolchildren and adolescents. Methodology: A study with explanatory scope and quasi-experimental design is conducted, in which an intervention program for children and adolescents was designed and validated; A pretest was applied before developing the program to a sample of 616 children and adolescents, to end with a second evaluation, which would allow the effectiveness of the socio-emotional skills stimulation program to be verified. Results: The results support the effectiveness of the stimulation program in socio-emotional competencies in a sample of boys, girls and adolescents based on significant improvements in all the socio-emotional dimensions evaluated in the experimental group after the intervention. Discussions: These findings highlight the importance of implementing stimulation programs in socio-emotional competencies in educational institutions, since they promote the emotional well-being and social adaptation of students.
