Abstract

This paper examined the implementation model of the practical tsunami evacuation drill based on the linkage with community-based disaster reduction activity and disaster reduction education. A practical evacuation drill was carried out in Kuroe and Funoo district of Kainan City where was the tsunami inundation estimated area against the Nankai Earthquake. In the evacuation drill, it was assumed that some roads and evacuation sites were blocked, and there were injured and vulnerable persons. The results of the evacuation drill showed that the problems of evacuation system and the spacial condition were able to be derived from the drill and residents’ perceptions of earthquake and tsunami evacuation was increased. And also, the significance, possibility and problems of the activities on the coordination were discussed.
