This paper discusses Fujitsu Local Area Network (LAN) technology. Fujitsu has developed three typical LANs based on optical transmission technology: the Optical Data Highway, the Optical Token Ring, and the Optical Bus Network. Many of these LANs are in service in the field. Each provides economical, efficient, and reliable communication to its assigned area. A cost-effective, flexible network tailored to the user's needs can be constructed by combining these LANs or operating them separately.
