Abstract
A total of 917 of the surviving children (90.3%) completed the examinations. Structural equation analysis was carried out with independent exposure variables and outcome groupings, with adjustment for confounders, to determine the overall effect of mercury exposure on outcomes. Because of high correlations among related measures, the outcome groups consisted of the HRV parameters, diastolic blood pressure and heart rate, and BAEP results.
