Abstract
Most of the students of the muscular engineering of SMKN Malang look less excited when the learning activities shown by some students who sleep in class, play mobile phones or laptops when learning takes place to indirectly cause student learning outcomes to be low. Improvements in the quality of learning should be applied by educators in vocational schools such as using interactive learning models. discovery learning model is a teaching method that focuses on student activities in learning. In the learning process with this method, the teacher only acts as a guide and facilitator who directs students to find concepts, propositions, procedures, algorithms and the like. The purpose of this study is to find out the effectiveness of discovery learning on student learning achievement. The subject of the study was a student of muscular engineering VHS 6 Malang. The design of the model uses the Kemmis & Mc Taggart model which consists of four stages, namely planning, action, observation, and reflection. The results showed that the discovery learning model was effective in improving the learning achievements of students of VHS 6 Malang muscular engineering.
