Abstract

The article focuses on the hosting and management of virtual microscopy slides for pathologic electronic learning and reference. It notes the significance of emphasis on database design, load balancing, user interface and metadata handling in developing and managing digital pathology internet site. It points out that internet sites need to have enough server capacity to deal with concurrent users.
