Abstract
The aim of this text is to inform the scientific community about United Nations Conferences on Climate Change and what is at play in these events, in particular as the first period of commitment comes to a close. The text situates Poznan's Conference within the long history of climate negotiations while analyzing in particular the evolution of the tensions that have arisen, the role of developing countries, the IPCC and NGOs. It sketches the "off" culture of the Conference in order to give an idea of the complexity of this event that cannot be reduced to negotiation. Finally, it summarizes the major contemporary options and their geopolitical stakes. It also explores the future of international climate governance, beyond the Copenhagen deadline (December 2009). © NSS-Dialogues, EDP Sciences 2009.
