Abstract

Circuit-breaker technology has developed rapidly and now offers many sophisticated functions. It has also become a much more economical option than traditional fusegear. Not only can it meet requirements for load matching, isolation, protection and discrimination, complementing the disconnection times set by the IEE Regulations against over-currents and earth faults, but its communication capability means it can form part of a modern automated distribution and energy management scheme.
