Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the way university professors transfer their knowledge to the students. The introduction of a new way of teaching has been accelerated: the flipped classroom. The flipped classroom allows for an interactive class and more flexibility to tailor the learning experience. This offers various benefits in the time of COVID-19 where online learning has become the standard. The smartphone is often seen as a distraction, however in the frame of the flipped classroom this can be turned into a fun monitoring tool for the learning progress of the students. The experiences gained during the COVID-19 pandemic can help in the development on novel ways of teaching.
