Abstract

Reports that Thomas Eisner of Cornell University, Ithaca, N.Y. and Rodrigo Gámez, director of Costa Rica's Instituto Nacional de Biodiversidad (INBio) have arranged for the financing of the preservation of biodiversity in Costa Rica. Merck & Co. has agreed to pay $1 million over the next two years for the opportunity to search for unexplored plants and animals that could yield new drugs
