Abstract

A total of 35 research articles originated from the PRISMA advanced search in Scopus and Web of Science databases between 2020 to 2024 yet only 27 matched our criteria for relevance. The researchers selected studies that met six specific quality assessment conditions. The study organized its findings into three major sections, including immersive learning for discipline-specific education, design and development of immersive learning experiences, and next engagement, inclusivity, and broader applications in immersive learning affecting learning outcomes. Research into findings about maximizing VR-based learning through optimal experience design increased student engagement and improved instructional methodology for successful deployment.
