Esketamine for Treatment-Resistant Depression The FDA has approved esketamine, the first antidepressant in a new class, for treatment-resistant depression. The agency weighed the drug’s rapid onset of effect against its abuse potential, which led to a Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategy.
