Abstract

University faculty are busy professionals tasked with many different responsibilities. While they certainly care about student success, their expertise is generally discipline‐specific and strategies for effective and engaging teaching are developed in the classroom along the way. As a resource for faculty development in a Teaching Center, this article shows the alignment of the biology of learning with Kolb's well‐known Experiential Learning Cycle and a proven design template that ensures faculty development workshops are effective, engaging, and transferable to the context of each faculty participant.
