Abstract

This paper presents the design and implementation of the monitoring and early warning system of brackish water quality aquaculture on the Chava river in Vietnam. The proposal system helps fish farmers detect abnormal water quality changes via SMS alerts and have timely solutions to avoid dead fish. The system including of multi-sensors, microprocessors and monitors. The sensors are not placed directly in the seawater but to be immersed in a tank. The sensors are frequently preserved in the freshwater, beginning of a measurement cycle, the sensor tank automatically discharge fresh water and pump seawater from three meters deep where fish are living into the sensor tank for measurement. After the estimation process is finished, the system will transmit measured data to raspberry pi via radio frequency or send SMS alerts via GPRS/GSM to the owner if any water parameter exceeds the thresholds. The sensors are then automatically washed and immersed in freshwater to ensure sensor life, accuracy, and sensor calibration cycle time is extended.
