Abstract
Presents discussions involving the understanding of the concept in the areas of Linguistics, Terminology, Library and Information Science. The analyses and reflections provide inputs to the field of construction of conceptual thesauri, because in these instruments the concepts are core elements and inter-related in their structure, establishing semantics relationships between themselves (equivalence, hierarchical and associative). The ponderings about the meaning of the concept resulted in a new proposal, developed by Maculan (2015), to the concept of “concept”, which was based on a triadic relation, based on the Semantics Triangle by Ogden and Richards, and the Triangle of the Concept by Dahlberg.
