Abstract

Guildworks, established by Marc Ricketts in 1994, specializes in the specialty fabrics niche of manufacturing kites. The company designs low- to zero-wind kites for collectors and hobbyists. The company which started as a wholesale business has now started to cater to individual customers with custom-made designs of the kites. With growing expansion, they have also shifted their base from Beverly, Mass., to Madison, Wis. The ultra-efficient designs and materials used by Guildworks makes it possible for the humans to produce the needed wind speeds in zero wind environments. The patented 'tension-suspended airflow' technology takes the logic of an airplane wing, and uses cloth to achieve this property. Today, Guildworks stands as an innovator for the kite hobbyists and collectors, hospitals, businesses, special event coordinators, and production companies.
