First Record of Cleistothecial Stage of Powdery Mildew Fungus on Strawberry in Japan.

Abstract

In July and November 1993, cleistothecia occurred on the lower sideof infected leaves of strawberry cv. Nyohoh growing in a greenhousein Hiratsuka, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. The fungus was identifiedas Sphaerotheca aphanis var. aphanis, and is described.
