Abstract

Public perception of PT. Damai Jaya Lestari (DJL), is a cognitive process experienced by everyone (the community) in understanding information about their environment related to the impact of the establishment of oil palm plantations. TP. DJL is an oil palm plantation company specializing in the processing of crude palm oil products. The surrounding community, especially the inhabitants of Rahanggada village, Popalia village and Oneeha village are villages which are the access roads to the company, the location is not too far between the company and the inhabitants of the village will have an impact that will be felt by the village community, the impact is from an economic and social point of view, both positive and negative. This study aims to determine how the community perceives the impact of the establishment of oil palm plantations. This research method uses descriptive qualitative data analysis. The sample was determined using the proportional cluster method, i.e. in each population 10% was taken as a sample. Based on the results of the research that has been carried out, it shows the economic impact on the oil palm plantations of PT. DJL in Rahanggada village and Popalia village are classified as very good and good (positive influence). In the village of Oneeha, it is included in the neutral category. Social impact on PT's oil palm plantations. DJL in Rahanggada Village and Popalia Village is in the wrong category. And in Oneeha Village, it is also included in the very bad (negative effect) category. Environmental impact on PT's oil palm plantations. DJL in the villages of Rahanggada, Popalia and Oneeha is classified as not good, very bad and (negatively affected).
