Abstract

In the January 1849 issue of Les Guêpes (translated as "The Wasps"), Jean-Baptiste Alphonse Karr wrote that iconic phrase, "Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose." Loosely translated, it means, "The more things change, the more they stay the same".
