Pengaruh Pendekatan Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) terhadap Hasil Belajar Peserta Didik pada Materi Pecahan di Kelas IV SD Negeri 1 Lambheu Aceh Besar

Abstract

In learning mathematics there are still many students who do not understand fraction material, especially equivalent fractions. The implementation of learning applied by the teacher is still centered on the teacher, the teacher does not involve students so that there are still many students who are less active. For this reason, it is necessary to apply a learning method that can make students active in learning mathematics. So an approach was used in this study, namely the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach. The formulation of the problem in this research is "is there any effect of the Realistic Matrhematics Education (RME) approach on student learning outcomes in fractional material in class IV SD Negeri 1 Lambheu Aceh Besar?". This study aims to determine the effect of the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach on student learning outcomes in fractional material, especially in equivalent fractional material. The approach in this study is a quantitative approach, the type of research is True Experimental with a Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The research population was all fourth grade students at SD Negeri 1 Lambheu Aceh Besar, taking samples from class IVA and IVB students. Data collection techniques used tests in the form of pretest and posttest, while data analysis techniques used SPSS Statistics 24 and hypothesis testing with independent t-tests. The results of testing the hypothesis with the independent t-test statistic obtained a significance value (2-tailed) of 0,000 < 0,05. Then the decision-making criteria, namely í µí°»í µí°» í µí±Ží µí±Ž is accepted and í µí°»í µí°» 0 is rejected. Thus it can be concluded that there is an influence of the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach on student learning outcomes in fractional material in class IV SD Negeri 1 Lambheu Aceh Besar.
