Abstract
The approximate world distribution and number of species of each currently recognized genus are given, along with the present status, type species, and mode of type species designation for all genus group names. There are now 8377 species in 1091 genera, placed in 2 divisions, 6 subfamilies, 10 sections, 57 tribes, and 40 subtribes. An additional 16 genera and 36 species of extinct taxa, and 2 genera with 2 species based on larvae, are listed. -from Authors
