Abstract

Small angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) experiments and a magnetization study have been performed on Ni84.8P15.2 and Ni82.5P17.5 alloys. It is shown that these alloys exhibit an inhomogeneous two-phase structure with regions having phosphorus contents below the average concentration. The amplitude of the concentration fluctuations determined by SAXS agrees with that derived from a magnetic analysis. © 1986 Springer-Verlag.
