Abstract

Although Aspergillus fumigatus infection is relatively rare, it should be considered in preterm low birthweight neonates with a rapidly progressive purpuric rash. Prompt diagnosis and treatment is crucial to maximize the chances of survival. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
