Abstract

The mechanism and delivery of occupational health and safety programmes in Canada has undergone rapid changes since the early 1970s. This paper briefly reviews the provision of occupational health and safety before 1970, discusses its development since then and highlights some important initiatives and trends up to present, in general in Canada and in particular in the province of Ontario.
