Abstract

Integrated active case detection, including contact tracing, is one of the pillars of the WHO Global Leprosy Strategy 2021–2030. This report describes key findings from a 2022 conference of ILEP Member associations, called primarily to determine ILEP’s future role in active case detection. The report focuses on innovative approaches to address challenges experienced in the different modalities of active case-finding, and which approaches are likely to have the best impact. It concludes by proposing how ILEP Members can work together at both international and country level to scale up active case-finding and make it more efficient and effective.
