Abstract

Although building lighting is paid more and more attention now, due to the limited areas illuminated by typical lighting, such as windows and skylights, especially the lack of sunlight irradiance and uneven distribution of sunlight often occur deep inside the room. The light pipe can effectively solve this kind of problem and transmit sunlight directly to the room. The light pipe with the inner diameter of 250mm was fixed, and the working efficiency of light pipes with different shapes and sizes was simulated by computer with illumination angles of 15, 45 and 90. Through simulation, it is found that the illumination angles of light pipes with different shapes and sizes are different at the maximum efficiency. It can match the suitable regional environment according to shape and size characteristics, meet daily office needs, and reduce the assistance of artificial lighting during the day, thus reducing the use of artificial lighting in buildings during the day and reducing the daily power consumption.
