Abstract

It is an inquestionable fact that much has been done in the last decades to improve the quality of the air we breathe and live in. Policies, technology and increasing public awareness have taken us to an unprecedented level of protection. On the other hand, it is also a fact that not only our cities but also our countryside continue to show worrying and troubling signs of environmental stress, of which air pollution is one of many.
