Abstract
The Realistic Mathematics Education approach which is known as RME, known as Pendekatan Matematika Realistik Indonesia (PMRI), is one of the recommended approaches in learning mathematics by experts in mathematics education. Many research report show a positive impact on implementing this approach in learning. However, teachers' knowledge on this approach needs to be assessed. Therefore, this study aims to describe in-service mathematics teachers' in KKG Gugus 5 Bayang, Pesisir Selatan, knowledge about RME. The survey divides into two groups, the first group is the teacher who already knows about RME, and the second group is the teachers who don't know about RME. This study is descriptive research using the survey method. The data were collected through a Google form questionnaire. The result shows that there is a positive perception of in-service mathematics teachers in this study towards their eagerness to implement the RME approach in classroom teaching. Based on the survey it found that only 56% of teacher member of KKG gugus 5 Bayang know about RME and their ability to design mathematical learning using the RME approach need to be improved.
