Abstract

In Indonesian culture, especially Central Java, male and female have different roles, men work while women take care of the house. Although it should have a different role, in fact men and women are now working together, therefore very interesting to know is there a difference in the meaningfulness of work between men and women? and how the description of the meaningful work of men and women. Based on that, the researchers conducted empirical tests on 2 groups of workers, the male group, containing 54 samples and the female group containing 49 samples with the mixed method especially embadded concurrency method. The main test in this study uses quantitative methods and supported by qualitative methods. The quantitative test results show that there are significant differences in the level of meaningfulness of the work of female and male sample groups with the calculation of the Independent Sample Test of 4.431 with a significance of 0.000 (p <0.005. The results of qualitative test on 3 male participants and 3 female participants showed that the meaningfulness of male work was based on the responsibility to provide for family and women based on the need to interact. Based on the two tests that have been conducted, it shows that the meaningfulness of the work of men and women in Central Java, especially employees of PT. Primayudha Mandirijaya was different.
