Abstract

In a world like today where people's dependence increases daily on materials like plastic and wood, their unstrained consumption created many detrimental impacts on the environment and human health. Over the past decades, pondering these concerns various efforts have been made in developing biocomposites that are derived from two words, bio- 'life'and composite- 'different'components meaning it formed by reinforcing two or more compatible components obtained from natural bioresources. Here, incorporating hydrocolloid gum like Cordia myxa with native agrowaste-based fibers such as sugarcane bagasse, and wheat straw, has created an astonishing position in the market and is known to evolve for global application. In used natural polymers, Cordia gum is a bioadhesive, which improves thermal, pasting, rheological, and textural properties. Agro-wastes polymer like bagasse and wheat straw have shown their incredibility in all waste materials. Many studies have given overviews of their biochemistry which mainly embrace cellulose, hemicellulose, and lignin as principal polymers and have impressive effects on their respective physio-mechanical properties like high tensile strength, young modulus, hardness, elongation, flexure strength, density, melting point, surface tension, and crystallinity. Their raw material collection, preparation, and modification process make it selectively ideal as they fulfil all environmental sustainability criteria; eco-efficiency, green chemistry, and industrial ecology. The developed pinewood is heat, fungus resistant, and non-corrosive that can be molded into any derived form. Today, it became an ideal substituent that has a wide range of applications in the domestic sector, aerospace, building materials, circuit boards, paperboard, and automobiles. This review mainly highlights the credentials related to biocomposites formed from reinforcing natural resources like sugarcane bagasse, wheat straw, and Cordia myxa fruits.
