Abstract

The present study was conducted to investigate the effect of egg shell colour of broiler parent stock on hatching results, chicken performance, carcass traits, internal organ weights and some blood parameters. In the experiment 1080 eggs were grouped into 3 egg shell colour classes (E<80.00: E: 80.00-83.50 and E>83.50) for investigate of hatching results. The number of 675 animal provided from incubated eggs was used in experiment. The experiment was designed with nine replicates. Hatching egg shell colour was significantly effected that: fertility (P<0.05), hatchability of fertile eggs (P<0.05), hatchability (P<0.05), 7th and 35th days chick live weight (P<0.01), 14th and 21st days chick live weight (P<0.05), egg shell thickness (P<0.01) and blood triglyceride value (P<0.01). In conclusion; it can be mentioned that the dark shell colour eggs gave better results in term of hatching results and developing characteristics in the experiment.
