DIRECTIONS FOR USER INTERFACE MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS RESEARCH.

Abstract

Three possible directions for user interface management system research are proposed. The two main purposes are to stimulate research in user interface management systems (UIMS) and to provoke discussion on which directions this research should take. In the discussion of the three research areas the emphasis is on the open research problems and not how they might be solved.
