Abstract
Museums as a means to preserve cultural heritage objects need to be introduced to the public and museums are also a means to introduce the events of a nation's cultural civilization to the public. The purpose of establishing a museum according to Article 2 of Government Regulation of the Republic of Indonesia Number 20 of 2015 concerning Museums, is: to have the task of studying, education, and enjoyment. The research methodology uses a normative juridical approach and the research location is in the Ranggawarsita Central Java Museum, Semarang City. The purpose of this research is to introduce to the public cultural heritage objects as collections left by ancient people as well as educational materials for the community related to ancient cultural heritage. The research results obtained are the Ranggawarsita Central Java Museum, one of the state’s museums, presenting various collections of cultural heritage objects in Central Java. with a total collection of 59,802 pieces, which are divided into 10 categories, namely: numismatics/heraldic of 44,966 objects, ethnography of 6,810 objects, ceramics of 1,200 objects, archaeology of 5,211 objects, the biology of 620 objects, fine arts of 397 objects, history 318 objects, 201 geological objects, 37 philological objects, and 42 technological objects.
