Abstract
DNA hairpin structures can be stabilized by introduction of constraint on the sugar phosphate backbone within the unpaired loop moiety by means of dinucleotides locked with an alpha torsion angle in gauche(+) configuration. © The Royal Society of Chemistry 2010.
