Abstract

The instability in the student formula vehicle during high-speed race requires car designers to make chassis models that are resistant to shocks, besides that the F1 student engineering drawing section is limited by rules in determining the dimensions of the chassis. The purpose of this research is to determine the effect of roll hope height on the strength of the deflection. Hope roll height variations are 518 mm, 525 mm, 532 mm. The methods used include making chassis design, determining roll height height variations, determining free body chassis diagrams, calculating using software, analyzing the results of deflection after loading. The results were the largest deflection of 20.37 mm (hope roll height of 532 mm), 14.94 mm (hope roll height of 525 mm), 14.16 mm (hope roll height of 518 mm). The conclusion is that the higher the roll hope, the higher the deflection will be.
