"Abortion Policy in Zambia: Implementation Challenges"

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to analyse and identify the main challenges which hinder the implementation of the abortion policy in Zambia. Abortion is a major public health challenge that could be a contributory factor to the high maternal mortality rate in country. Despite abortion being legal, access to the service is still difficult for some women in need of the service.
