Low-energy collisions of Ar9+ with Ar2 were conducted and charge sharing in the asymmetric dissociation channels was analyzed. The correlation of scattering direction of projectile and orientation of the target dimer indicates that the atom closer to the projectile is preferentially ionized. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.
