Abstract
By using hybrid xerogels that are composed of alkyl and perfluoroalkyl ORMOSILs (organically modified silicates) doped with the luminophore tris(4,7prime;-diphenyl-1,10prime;-phenanthroline) ruthenium(II), we have produced highly sensitive O2 sensors (i.e., IN2/I O2 = 35 ± 4) with linear calibration curves that exhibit less than 2% drift over 6 months. © 2005 American Chemical Society.
